2007 Summer Workshops

July 21-22, 2007 - Traditions of Healing, Weeds to Know, Herbal Medicine Making

August 18-19, 2007 - Home Raw Dairy & Goat Keeping

September 15-16, 2007-

Rabbit Keeping & Harvesting Rabbit and Poultry

Workshop days run 9AM –5PM with a break for lunch.

Cost $150 per workshop or $400 for the series ($50 savings). 4-H discounts available.
Limited number of work-study scholarships are available.
Camping is available for workshop weekends at the farm.

Education Programs

-Whole Earth Farm School: New classes begin January, 2008.

-Whole Child Farm Homeschool Program: scheduled to start Fall 2008.

Our Mission:

-To bring back the knowledge of how to be as self-reliant and sustainable in your lifestyle, whether living in an urban apartment, suburbs, or on acreage.
-
To bring this knowledge in an accessible way to all that wish to learn these disappearing arts and sciences.
-
To provide hands-on learning in conjunction with traditional study.
-
To provide a holistic internship opportunity for those seeking homeschool experiences,educational credit for agricultural/gardening programs or community service.

Classes:
Generally held from 9-5 on a weekend with a break for lunch.
The homeschool program will meet two half days per week.

Students:
Students are welcomed from all walks of life and experience levels. Adults and homeschooled highschoolers are welcomed to apply to be in the year-long farm program or take individual classes. Homeschool students will be accepted into the Certificate Program on a case by case basis.

Work-Study Scolarships: A limited number of work-study scholarships are available for highly motivated students who want hands-on work experience in lieu of tuition. These work scholarships require physical labor on the farm

Apprenticeships:
We have one opening for a live-in apprentice. This is an intensive position for a highly motivated, responsible individual who has a desire to learn to farm, homestead, practice as an herbalist.

Costs:
Year Long Certificate Students -
$35 per class and 10 hours on-farm work exchange per month. Cetificate students must apply and there are limited openings.  Certificate students are expected to take all offered classes and complete an independent project.
Public– as space is available in classes, $75 per class.
